Bitmoji Classroom
The Bitmoji classroom is a fun way to connect with students. I like the wood floor, comfy chair, whiteboard and nice plants. Camera gear and other artworks also livened up the space. My photo-history slideshow was divided into two parts (digital and film) and hyperlinked to a Fuji digital and Leica M3 film rangefinder. The format can be adapted to other art subjects (acrylic and watercolor painting, ceramics, silkscreen, graphic design) and easily hared with parents. I like it!

Group Lesson by The Photopops! : "Photoshop and Body Image"
This was a fun group project with Anahy, Ashley, Clarisse and Marc. We had a good time working together, and the lesson is relevant, fun and informative. To the right is my "teacher sample," where I question video games and body image. Today there are many games that seems to celebrate violence and hyper-maleness; I question how they benefit youth mental health. Body image (or dysmorphia) can start in childhood, but do our kids need to be programmed with standards of beauty designed by advertisers and biased social media influencers? Our kids need the space to discover themselves as good people and develop healthy virtues so that all of us can thrive.

3D Project: Zopa the Yak!
|
Zopa the Yak is one of my spirit-animals. The yak has a long history on the Silk Road and specifically in Tibetan culture. Yaks are tough, reliable, cute, cantankerous or cooperative.
Building Zopa was fun. The color schemes on the Tinkercad software were limited but the earth tones are good. Image rotation gets easier over time. As a free app, Tinkercad is one that kids and adults should love. YouTube has some cool videos about yaks in Tibetan culture, and you can listen to some deep, multi-tonal Buddhist chanting to Yamantaka, a compassionate "protector deity " with the head of a yak. |
Hungry Little Friends
|
A stop-motion film made using the Canon 5D Mark IV, Photoshop, iMovie and Audacity. The sound clips were free downloads and I made several voice-overs including the "Use the force" clip. The music is by bensound (https://www.bensound.com/). This was fun to do, but iMovie was sometimes a headache. Enjoy the satire. Storyboard PDF is below. |

How to Adjust for Contrast in Photoshop
A short lesson on adjusting tonal range in Photoshop. I made this using Quick Time, Audacity, iMovie and Photoshop. I made the .mp4 using Freeconvert.com. Send me any questions you may have. The lesson is made for high school students several weeks into the course after gaining some basic knowledge of Photoshop.
